The Lloyd Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Amsterdam's fashionable Eastern Docklands Area, an area awash with fascinating cultural, architectural and shopping highlights. It is just 5 minutes by tram from Central Station, has (paid) parking facilities and it has free WIFI in the public areas. The hotels 117 rooms have been furnished with care and detail and many of them have individually created furniture pieces by famous Dutch designers and artists. The hotel has a restaurant called Snel, (best translated as brisk), a recording studio, a nomadic library and a kitchen for the use of those hotel guests who prefer to cook for their own visitors. The hotel Cultural Embassy offers various services in the communal spaces.
The Lloyd Hotel is very well situated; it is located in the fashionable Eastern Docklands near the city centre, only 5 minutes by tram from Central Station. Access from the ring-road is easy and many rooms offer lovely views over the water. The hotel has paid parking facilities in a nearby parking garage. There is also plenty of space in front of the hotel if you are interested in getting there by boat.
The central feature of Lloyd Hotel is its Cultural Embassy. The mission of the Embassy is to open up Dutch art, culture and science for the guests of the hotel. At the same time the Embassy aims to reveal the cultural riches of the guests and make it accessible for a Dutch public.The Embassy uses a wide definition of culture which includes high art and pop culture, social developments and science, underground artists and those who are established, individuals and institutions.
All 117 rooms in the Lloyd Hotel – ranging from one to five stars – offer a different experience. These entail a difference in design, surface area and therefore rate. Much attention has been given to the interior of the rooms. A number of exciting Dutch Designers (Claudy Jongstra, Hella Jongerius, De Bazel, Marcel Wanders, Richard Hutten, to name but a few) have created several of the furniture pieces.
